How to depot Chanel single eyeshadows
Apr 15, 2015
Depoting a Chanel single eyeshadow turned out to be
surprisingly easy! I always search online first for the safest method to depot
a particular eyeshadow because different methods are required for different packaging. Nothing is worse than going about it blindly and ending up
with casualties! I couldn’t find any photographs or videos illustrating the
process for Chanel singles but this post by Belly pointed me in the right
direction. No heat is required which is always a plus as nobody likes burnt
plastic. In fact the compact will not be damaged in any way and you can even
keep it for future use, making the prospect of depoting a fancy eyeshadow less
painful.
All you will need is a boxcutter. Below I have the Chanel eyeshadow single in Safari, a beautiful taupe. The pan is held inside an inner casing within the compact.
The top of the inner casing can be easily pried open by slipping a box cutter
under the edge of a corner. Minimal force is needed which makes this step extra
safe for the both the compact and your fingers.
With the cover gone you can insert your box cutter
underneath the eyeshadow pan and gently lift it up. The adhesive is not strong
at all so this was easy-peasy.
Ta-da !
Last step, pop the cover back into the compact and you have
a mini Chanel travel compact mirror!
